Mission Trips 2025 - One Day Closer

As our family stood outside the gates to a desolate refugee camp in Greece, thoughts ran through our head of the risks we could possibly encounter with our young children. At that moment, our son, Caden, who was only 9 at the time, said “We have the hope of heaven. If we go in there and die, we will spend eternity together in heaven. If we leave, who will share the hope of Jesus with them?” The heart of this sentiment has spurred us on to live life on mission as a family. For this reason, our family has taken mission trips to multiple countries with several different organizations. We have also been excited to share this blessing by leading groups of high school students, families and college age students on short term mission trips. Since we have seen how mission trips have been so pivotal in the lives of our own children, we wanted to provide opportunities and leadership for other families to experience this for themselves and to change the lives of those they encounter. Donations made through ODC will help make these trips possible.

We will be launching Family Mission Trip opportunities for the summer of 2025.

We are excited to offer several mission trip opportunities for families for the 2025 summer. Each family that signs up for a trip will be assigned an intern from the One Day Closer Discipleship Program as a guide for the trip. These interns are a part of an intense discipleship program to grow their personal relationship with the Lord and gain experience on the mission field. Our London trip was heavily focused on evangelism throughout the city. Our team had the opportunity to meet, have conversations with, and pray over people from dozens of different cultures and backgrounds. We had several events such as home churches, worship nights, and even a neighborhood barbecue that we were able to invite people to! This allowed us to connect the people we met with believers who live in the city of London. We are praying for long term relationships and for each person we met to continue to feel loved and seen by the Lord!

Going on this mission trip made me realize I was not actually following Christ and given Him my whole life. This trip transformed my mind about what actually matters, gave me that eternal mindset, and made me realize how badly other people need to hear the good news of the gospel. I was transformed so much that when I got back from the trip, I told my best friend and my dad about the mission trip and how Jesus changed me and that He could do the same thing for them. This mission trip completely changed my mindset and instilled an eagerness to share what Jesus has done for me.
