Focusing on raising up disciple-makers and not just disciples, expands and propels our ministry’s reach even after we are gone. For this reason we are currently leading a group of 50 high school students through a weekly discipleship training program. We plan to lead an 8 week discipleship program this summer for students to not only learn how to be a disciple of Christ but to equip them to begin discipling others.
The beginning of my junior year turned out to be a very stressful time with lots of sudden changes happening in my life. It seemed to me that a lot of joy had been taken away from me and I felt like my foundation had been greatly shaken. Every day, I felt my anxiety growing. But in the midst of that, the Lord still blessed me through this discipleship program by reminding me of how important it was to set my heart on eternity instead of the world and the true joy that comes with living for the sake of Christ rather than myself. Now, though many of my circumstances are still the same, I have great peace in trusting the promises and provision of God!

It has helped me to know where to start a relationship with Jesus. It helped me prepare for my mission trip to Florida. It also helped me to start wondering and looking into and praying about what my spiritual gifts might be. Then on my mission trip when I was putting these things into practice it was revealed one of my gifts is exhortation.
